About me
Jessica Bliss, PhD IBCLC
Hi- I’m Jessica, and I’ve got a real soft spot for new families and babies. I’m also a runner, a quilter, an animal lover, partner of a scientist, a mom of three sweet and wild boys, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have a PhD in International Nutrition from Cornell University with a focus on maternal and child health.
I have over 10 years of experience working with infants and families across home, clinic, and hospital settings. I started out as a Certified Lactation Counselor in 2014 and become an IBCLC in 2022. I started Bright Star in 2024 to fill a gap in lactation and breast/chest-feeding support in Corvallis, Oregon.
My goal as your lactation consultant is to identify a plan that will work for all of you- the nursing parent, the baby, and the family as a whole. It is my hope that by the time I have left your home, you feel a sense of relief, confidence, and direction regarding your options and decisions.
